The Alarm.com app
The app is not an extra and it is not a tier: every plan on this site comes with it, from the cheapest one up. Arm and disarm, watch live or saved clips, unlock a door for a delivery, drop the heat when the house empties, and get told only about the things that matter. It runs on iPhone, Android, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Amazon Echo and Google Home.
What changes between plans is how much of the house it can reach — arming and alerts on all of them, video once you add cameras, locks and heat on Interactive + Automation.

Which plan gets you what
Arming, disarming, alerts, user codes and Smart Arming are on every Alarm.com plan, including Universal Communicator on an old dialer panel. Live and saved video needs a video level added to whatever plan you are on, because cameras cost the station and Alarm.com money whichever plan they sit under. Locks, the thermostat and the garage door are Interactive + Automation, because that is what the plan is for.
